Lower Puna Disaster Relief Assistance

Are you or your clients, family or friends, displaced from the Volcanic Eruption/ Lava Flow?

The National Association of REALTORS, through the REALTORS Relief Foundation, approved the financial funds for Hawaii Island REALTORS to assist residents affected by the Lower Puna lava flow with monthly mortgage expense or rental cost due to displacement. Their goal is to help those who are more in need of their services during this difficult time.

Type of Assistance

Assistance is available to qualified applicants towards one of the following:

  • Monthly mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged by the Volcanic Eruption/ Lava Flow Disaster; or
  • Rental cost due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the Volcanic Eruption/Lava Flow Disaster

Assistance is for housing relief only, and is limited to a maximum of $1,700 per applicant per household.

Disbursement of Funds

In order to provide for a reasonable and equitable distribution of funds, assistance will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. All grants are contingent upon the availability of funds. Grants will be jointly payable to applicant and mortgage lender or landlord.

Deadline for application submission is September 7, 2018.
